ANIMA/ANIMUS is an immersive art  work, which started in the context  of a residency at the Center for German Studies in Venice in 2024.

The installation is diffusing  vapor to humidify the air and it can also be seen as a breathing artifact that transforms the quality of the environment.

Manufactured at the famous glass atelier of  Studio Berengo the glass object is mouth-blown evokes the body of an  alien creature.

According to C.G.Jung ANIMA/ANIMUS designates one of the most important archetypes—it manifests itself in moods and emotions, enthusiasm and love, dreams, and myths.

The inner or outer images of ANIMA/ANIMUS in an individual can be broadly described as „personifications of a feminine nature in the unconscious of a man and a masculine nature in the unconscious of a woman.“

Anima, on the other hand, is translated as air as an element, breath of air, wind, breath, soul (also in the sense of a ‘spirit’), and living being or life. The connection between ‘air’ and ‘spirit’ in the semantic field of Anima is the same as in the Hebrew Ruach (air, breath, spirit) or the Indian Prana and Akasha, which are also comparable to the concept of the breath-soul.
